One Below, a new UK discount brand from the original founders of Poundworld, will open its first store in Hull this week, choosing North Point Shopping Centre to launch in the city.
The new store will open on Friday 19th July at the former Poundworld unit in the Bransholme shopping hub. The 6,500 sq. ft unit has just undergone a refurbishment ready for the opening.
Former Poundworld staff at North Point have secured many of the 20 jobs that have been created at the One Below store and are ready to welcome shoppers looking for a bargain.
The new independent chain is the first discount store in the UK to sell everything for £1 and under, including a wide range of brands such as Coca Cola, Pedigree,Heinz, Cadbury and Kellogg’s. The store also stocks many popular cleaning names such as Zoflora and The Pink Stuff, as favoured by social media superstar Mrs Hinch.
Christopher Edwards managing director of One Below Retail Limited said: “We’re delighted to be opening at North Point Shopping Centre in Bransholme and helping local shoppers to save on a variety of their favourite products. As with other One Below openings elsewhere in the country, we are expecting a big turnout!”
Louise Smith, centre manager at North Point, said: “It is a testament to our centre and loyal shopping community that One Below has chosen us for their first Hull store launch. We are a popular centre and always looking to offer our customers something new so I know they will be excited by this new store opening.
“We are of course also delighted that many of the local people who were previously working at Poundworld have found new roles with One Below and we can’t wait to welcome them back to the North Point community we have here. This is a great letting for the centre and we look forward to seeing everyone down here on Friday.”
